Pontoise Baroque Festival
A new meaning:
The adjective baroque does not only qualify an era that could be situated between Monteverdi's Orfeo in 1607 and Bach's death in 1750. In its etymological sense, it means irregular, imperfect or strange, but at the same time it serves beauty. It thus allows for all kinds of mixtures of styles, periods and cultures.
Pluridisciplinarity:
As a total spectacle, the Pontoise Baroque Festival creates its specificity from the meeting of music with dance, theatre, decorative arts, etc.
